LifeCare helps protect your assets and estate from the ever-rising costs of skilled nursing care. As you may know, long term nursing care can cost as much as $85,000 annually in the Ocean County area. Under the LifeCare Program at Harrogate, the cost of skilled nursing care is included in your monthly service fee. For a couple, the savings could be even more significant. If only one spouse requires care in our on site Health Care Center, the spouse who does not need nursing care maintains occupancy in their lovely apartment home, the monthly fee does not change! Other communities that do not offer true LifeCare require that you pay your monthly apartment fee in addition to any skilled nursing care you or your spouse may require.

There are also distinct tax advantages associated with LifeCare. The IRS has determined that a portion of your initial entrance fee as well as a portion of your monthly service fee is considered a deductible medical expense. This is true regardless if you receive skilled nursing services, or do not receive skilled nursing services during the year from Harrogate.
